S 3 was started in June 2010 in East Dundee, IL. 

The company's title (S 3) is reflective of Nick Schey having become the 3rd Schey to start a plumbing contracting business. 

Nick's Grandfather (Bill Schey, Sr.) co-founded the long-standing company "Planned Plumbing, Inc." in Arlington Heights, IL. back in the 1960's.

Nick's Father (Bill Schey, Jr.) opened "Professional Plumbing, Inc." in Barrington, IL in the late 1970's.

Up until early 2013 when Nick's grandfather retired, all three companies operated completely independent of one another.
